Prices and Terms

Boat hire is per day, usually 9am - 5pm but different times are possible, please ask at the time of booking. 

Subject to weather conditions and crew ability, the Stonefisher boats may be taken anywhere up to 20 miles from Plymouth Sound with only a few minor exceptions.

Qualifications are not required to hire the Stonefisher boats, however:

· NFSA affiliated club members qualify for a £20 discount.

· Level 2 powerboat holders qualify for a £20 discount. (One discount per boat only)

WHAT’S INCLUDED

· A fully kitted boat to Maritime and Coastguard Agency safety standards.

· Lifejackets.

· Instruction on the boats nav kit/sounder etc and safety equipment.

· Boat handling instruction if required.

· Fully comprehensive insurance.

· Standard fishing kit (landing net, bait knives, T-bar etc).

· Tea/coffee/sugar/milk and safety mugs.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

The only other costs are fuel, fishing tackle hire if required, bait if required and car parking. 

Fuel

Diesel for marine use is tax free.  The price changes frequently but is currently selling at the marina pumps for 53p per litre (19 Jun).  The new VW engines in the Arvors are very efficient and run on about 2 gallons/hour at the cruise (13knots) and 4 gallons/hour at max speed (20 knots).  As a guide a full days drift fishing around Eddystone should cost about £20, while a day pottering around the Sound may cost as little as a fiver!

Fishing Tackle

In addition to the standard kit, fishing tackle can be provided at £5 per head.  The kit includes good quality downtide rods and reels, a selection of pre-tied rigs suitable for the grounds around Plymouth, feathers for mackerel and launce and a range of jelly worms. 

Bait

I can provide fresh seasonal bait if required, please ask at the time of booking.

Car Parking

Plenty of space is available in the marina car park for £6 per car per day.
