The UK's premier self-drive fishing boat charter

Stonefisher Charters

About Us

I am a keen fisherman and I have my own small boat, but like many people with work and family commitments I don’t get on the water half as much as I’d like to.  If you don’t get on the water very much it does make owning a boat an expensive business.  I wanted to make great boats available at affordable prices for self-drive private hire, to be used in arguably the best fishing grounds the UK has to offer.  Based at the Queen Anne’s Battery Marina, the Stonefisher boats are easy to get to, with ample parking.  They are on excellent pontoons and the location of the marina means there are no lock gates to contend with and there are no tidal limitations.

I set up the business in June 06 when, after lots of research, I chose the Arvor 230AS.  Boats of this quality mean a party of up to six can fish in comfort, making it a great platform for club outings and competitions as well as for a few mates looking to enjoy a day out.  Also, the space and shelter with added features such as a deep side deck right to the bow and a novel aquarium-style live bait tank, makes this a fantastic boat for family fishing and cruising and of course, with you in charge you can return to the calm waters of the Sound whenever you like!

As much or as little instruction on the boat, and all its equipment, will be given as necessary before you take your boat for the day.  Once out of the marina you are straight into great fishing in the Sound where shelter can be found in virtually any weather conditions.  You may wish to venture further where areas like Eddystone (the scene of over 90 British fishing records!) or the Rutts can be reached in under an hour, perhaps stopping on the way to pick up a few obliging mackerel.

At the end of the day, simply return the boat to the marina where you can mull over the day’s fishing in the Chandler’s Bar if you wish, or just look forward to enjoying the freshest catch of the day!
